    zimmerman's.....

Zimmerman's Vineyard's 3rd. birthday party is this Saturday from 10-8. Although I've never been able to attend their birthday parties, I've been to their vineyard on other occasions, and like I mentioned in a blog entry from 2008, "it's probably as close to Provence as I'll ever get." It's a beautiful space -- the vines, the tasting room and flagstone terrace, the Uwharrie's in the background, and gracious hosts Leslie and Norm Zimmerman. Hmmmmhhhh, maybe I will make it this Saturday afternoon after all.

Don't laugh. Some of the most beautiful wineries in the word are right here in the USA. California - what can I say - what a glorious trip just traveling from vineyard to vineyard. I was amazed that they even had the posts labeled as to the type of grape/wine, i.e. merlot! I don't know what I was expecting but it seemed to totally organized.
Also, in Michigan - especially in the early fall are some of the greatest wineries tucked away where you would least expect them. Most with terraces, overlooking rolling countryside - perfect for sipping that perfect glass of Pinot.
Thanks for sharing. Hope you are doing well. Here on the Wilmington front it's hot and our wineries stink!

Pat, shouldn't you be working!!! :-) You must be subscribed to my rss feed to have responded that quickly. I'm heading down your way for a down and back trip today, and hope I can make it to ZV's Saturday afternoon before they close up and end the party. It's a waaay cool place. Those pics are some I took my first visit there. Hey to your little red-headed buddy.

Have fun and be safe! Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day.
I'll say hi to Teenie for you - we played together Monday. Shopped til we dropped! And yes, I was at work. Tina sent me your blog info so I was checking it out.
    Take care.
